Bulgarian born spinto soprano Mila Ionkova, holds a Masters degree in Music. She is a graduate oboist from the famous Academy of Music and Dance Art, Plovdiv. As an oboist, Ms. Ionkova had traveled around the world with numbers of different orchestras. In 2006, she made her first appearance on stage with TrypTich’s production “The Concul”, where she performed the role of the Mother. Also in 2006, she made her solo recital debut with a great success. The following year, she sang the leading role in Puccini’s Tosca, followed by Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana. Most recently, Ms.Ionkova performed Leonora in La Forza del Destino, under the tutelage of Mr. William Shookhoff and his Opera by Request. Her oratorical work includes Dvorak’s “Stabat Mater” and Handel’s “Messiah”. In June this year, Ms. Ionkova is scheduled to perform the role of Amelia in “Un Ballo in Maschera” by Verdi.
