Alexander Wladigeroff

Alexander Wladigeroff was born on 17.08.1978 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He began playing the trumpet at the age of 9. Alexander has the music in his blood. His grandfather is the famous Bulgarian composer Pancho Wladigeroff. His fahter, Alexander Wladigeroff, continues the musical tradition of the family, being also a renowned composer and conductor. The mother of Alexander, Velitschka Chobanova-Wladigerova, is an actress and a wonderful mother.

Education:

– 1997 – Graduation from the National Music High School “L. Pipkov”, Sofia.

– 1997 – Admissions to the the National Academy of Music “P. Wladigeroff”, Jazz Department – Trumpet.

– 1998 – Admissions to The University of Music, Vienna at the preparation composition class by Prof. Lauermann.

– 1999 – Admission at The Academy of Music, Vienna, majoring Jazz Trumpet by Prof. R. Politzer, M. Holzhacker.

– June 2004 – Final examination in Jazz Trumpet at the Academy of Music, Vienna.

– Dec 2004 – Admission at the “Royal Academy of Music”- London (Postgraduate Class Jazz Trumpet, Proff. Gerard Presencer).

– June 2005 – Diploma examination for teaching Jazz Trumpet (pedagogics) at the Academy of Music, Vienna.

– 1996 –  “Sofia Young Talent Competition for Classic Trumpet” Artist Prize.

– 2002 –  First award at the Fidelio Competition with his Jazz-Trio “Wladigeroff”.

– 2003 –  First award at the Fidelio Competition with his brother Konstantin Wladigeroff- Jazz-Duo.

– 2004 –  “WORLD MUSIC FÖRDERPREIS 2004” with “Fatima Spar und die Freedom Fries”-“Porgy and Bess”, Vienna.
